Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known term? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
