Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 Till a limit known? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 The living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
