Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
