Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 the living and the dead? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
