Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 and the severally severing 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
