The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the star when it descends, 1 This fellow-man of yours has not gone astray, nor is he deluded, 2 And he speaketh not of his own desire. 3 It is naught but revelation that is revealed, 4 He has been taught by the Extremely Powerful. 5 Dhu Mirrah (free from any defect in body and mind), Fastawa [then he (Jibrael - Gabriel) rose and became stable]. [Tafsir At-Tabari]. 6 And reached the highest pinnacle. 7 then drew near and suspended hung, 8 until he was as close to him as the distance of two bows, or even less. 9 And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed. 10 His heart did not falsify what he perceived. 11 Will you dispute with him what he saw? 12 And verily he saw him yet another time 13 to the Lot-tree (in the seven heavens) 14 near which is the Garden of Abode. 15 When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it]. 16 [And withal,] the eye did not waver, nor yet did it stray: 17 For truly did he see, of the Signs of his Lord, the Greatest! 18 Have you ever thought about al-Lat and al-Uzza, 19 And Manat, the third - the other one? 20 Is the male for you and for Him the female? 21 This is certainly an unjust apportioning. 22 They are but names which you have named, you and your fathers, for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire, whereas there has surely come to them the Guidance from their Lord! 23 Nay, shall man have (just) anything he hankers after? 24 But it is to God that the Hereafter and this world belong. 25

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
