In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 storming tempestuously 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 As justification or warning, 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known term? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
