A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad. 1 This Book has been sent down to you; so do not hesitate to warn (the unbelievers) through it, and remind the faithful. 2 Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians besides Him, how little do you mind. 3 And how many a township We have destroyed, upon them Our violence came at night or while they were taking their midday rest. 4 When Our wrath struck them, they could do nothing but confess to their sins. 5 We will question those to whom Our Message was sent, as We shall question the Messengers. 6 We will tell them with absolute certainty (what they had done) for We had never been absent from them (during their lifetime). 7 The weighing that day is true; he whose scales are heavy -- they are the prosperers, 8 And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. 9 And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful. 10
