Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 and the severally severing 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 till a known term decreed? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
