The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great event, 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 Recompense fitted! 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
