The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
