The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
