Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
