The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 About which they differ? 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
