The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
