The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 you pay attention 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
