The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 you pay attention 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
