The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
