The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)

CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
