The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
