The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
