He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, 5 to a rich man, 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 uplifted, purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 noble and purified. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 And olives and date palms, 29 And thick gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 And his mother and his father 35 his wife and his sons: 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
