He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 to him thou attendest 6 though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 and in awe of God 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 NAY, VERILY, these [messages] are but a reminder: 11 and whoso wills, shall remember it 12 On honoured leaves 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 Olives and dates, 29 And dense gardens, 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 And his mother and his father 35 wife and sons, 36 For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 and overcast with gloom: 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
