He Frowned ('Abasa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him? 4 For him who does not care, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 And whereas he fears, 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 These verses are a reminder 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 exalted, purified, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 We send down abundant water, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 and olive trees and date palms 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 Some faces will shine, 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
