Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 that hide, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
