The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
