The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
