The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
