The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
