The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
