The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and brightening morning, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
