The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 that hide, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
