Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 that hide, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
