The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
