The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 The closing night, 17 The rising dawn, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where then will you go? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
