The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
