Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven becomes cleft asunder, 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 Every soul will come to know what it has sent ahead and what it left behind. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 They know all that you do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
