Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are erupted 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 noble, writers 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
