Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 but you should know that there are angelic guards 10 watching over you 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 to burn therein. 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
