Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are erupted 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 The honourable recorders. 11 who know all that you do: 12 As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
