The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 for a great Day, 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): 23 Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "Verily! These have indeed gone astray!" 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day, 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Have those who deny the truth [not] been paid back for their deeds? 36
