Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
