The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
