The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
