The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
