The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 will be easy, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
