The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
