The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
