The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
