The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
