The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
